Chapter 43: Performance Evaluation: I have been an employee for 20 years and have seen performance appraisals to be very subjective. I have volunteered for extra work and gone beyond what is expected of a good employee, yet I have seen it time and time again where the supervisors friend gets the atta boy award. I am all for making it easier to fire the dead beats and hire the go getters, but the evaluation system should be looked at closely to prevent this unjustice. Finally, I have seen numerous employees come into the system and typically the seasoned employee are very efficient and can run rings around the green horns (5 years experience or less). Seniority should count for something.
