With over one thousand responses thus far to the new proposed NSPS regulations I have only seen one, out of around seventy-five submissions that I have personally read, that is in full support of NSPS. All other 74 submissions I’ve read have valid and alarming concerns. These issues, concerns, and questions, which have risen since the first mention of this civil service overhaul as far back as nearly two years ago, have been completely ignored as evident by the new proposed NSPS rules, as currently written. NSPS officials asked for commentary submissions from the affected workforce for our concerns, as well as improvement ideas to make NSPS better. You have received them. What will it now take to insure our concerns and question are properly addressed and the rules modified to insure the security and stability of the dedicated and hardworking DoD workforce? Or will all the thousands of concerned individuals that are requesting and pleading to not implement the rules be ignored again as they had been prior to the drafting of the proposal now before us? The overwhelming majority of submissions have made it clear that we do not find many of these rules acceptable. The new proposed rules are an obvious and deliberate attack made directly toward the basic core rights that have always been assured to us. Our current existing rules, that deal with our basic rights and protections, are clear and steadfast that provide to us a commitment of appreciation, value, and a sense of security for our dedicated and life-long careers given (by the majority) for the services we all took an oath to provide. We are all anxiously waiting to see how our comments and opinions are considered and acted upon. What happens from this point on, by the decision to reconsider the rules or not, will become a moment in time and history that will publicize the true attitude of our appointed and elected officials towards the common and devoted DoD labor force that have always provided the logistical support required by our military forces without fail. How we are treated will ultimately determine the future success or failure of the NSPS.
