If we are in between a step increase, will we be allowed to attain the next scheduled step increase when the new pay band system goes into effect? Will everyone automatically receive a "COLA" or "CPI"? In other words, is the yearly cost of living increase approved by the president and congress still awarded or is it integrated into the pay band? I understand how performance would affect what used to be the step increase but inflation continues each year. I believe that people should continue to receive the minimum cost of living increase and not tie that in with performance. Other increases based on superior job performance should be put into a discrete category and awarded accordingly. Thank you for reading these comments. I believe that everyone should do his/her very best job in serving our country. We all should strive for excellence.
