I am concerned about the pay/compensation section. First who determines what level I need to perform at to be "acceptable" to my supervisor? What recourse do I have if I feel I am not being fairly rated? Will my pay as a firefighter become more aligned with the agencies outside the gate? In the Classification section I also have questions. "More flexibility to assign employees new or different work" What does this mean? Can I be assigned a new job without choice? "Lengthy detailed job descriptions no longer needed." So how am I to know the range of my duties? Sounds like a way to assign me whatever suits the supervisor regardless of what I hired on to do. Labor/relations It is stripping the entire process of working between labor and management to come up with a WORKABLE solution to problems. In my opinion Labor relations will not exist under that policy. It appears to allow no negotiations of any kind except at the convenience of the government. I feel the NSPS system is another way to take advantage of the federal worker and will drive people to seek other employment not retain workers.
