I am incredibly amazed at the proposed NSPS rules. While the DOD civilian workforce (and the military) is attacking terrorism, and evil around the world; the Department of Defense is attacking the DOD civilian workforce. May I remind you that it is the workers who have made America what it is, not the politician. And it is the DOD worker who is keeping America free, not the politician. The NSPS goes way too far in stripping the employees of their basic rights of employment. They want to take us back to the "good ole boy" system. God forbid it. NSPS is no way to repay loyalty, hard work, dedication, & sacrifice. NSPS is fundamentally unfair and will only add fuel to the favoritism that already exists. People will be afraid to contradict the supervisor no matter how unethical, wrong, ignorant, unsafe, discriminating the decision may be. As a result quality will suffer, as well as efficiency and effectiveness. We do not need this in this day and age. A workers salary will be determined solely determined by the personal judgement of the supervisor. Cost of living increases that barely cover the inflation factor will be taken away from many hardworking people. The supervisor can even reduce the salary, cost of living increase and bonuses if for whatever reason he does not like the individual. The morale of the workforce will be at an all time low. The present pay system is fair and unbiased, and there are many venues to reward great performers. Most workers are good performers. It is not fair for some who has given so much of his life can easily be replaced by someone new. The NSPS will totally corrupt the system. Remember power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. This is not fair and just wrong. Remember that without the support, knowledge and dedication of the civilian workforce the military cannot win the war. What is wrong about rewarding dedication, loyalty, perseverance, long lasting service? The best way to bring about change is to get people on the bandwagon and not to shove it down people's throat. We do not live in a perfect world, and to assume that everyone will do the right thing is insanity. The protections that are there for the workers will all be done away with. How evil is that? That's just my humble opinion in case someone cares. But when I see the arrogance with which DOD has treated the concerns of the workforce, I have my doubts.
