As a first line supervisor I welcome the opportunity to properly pay and reward employees based on their performance. Many employees feel that due to longevity, they should get raises. I do not believe that raises/WIGI's should be based solely on tenure. If an employee feels they should be rewarded for showing up and find that they can get a raise each year regardless of how they perform then some are less than motivated to give anything more than what is minimally acceptable. The stellar performer often is neglected and unappreciated but now the supervisors will have a means to show the stellar performers that their contributions are recognized and appreciated.
