I oppose the pay being set by your supervisor. This can be very discriminatory. We get performance awards now by this system. We had one whole department disqualified by everyone being rated fully satisfactory. The supervisor was told by his boss that no one was to be rated any higher. This was so that the supervisor could be rated to not receive an award. This will be typical of raises under the nsps system. The present system was put in place to stop this kind of behavior. Do not take a step back into the patronage system that will arise under nsps. The intent is good, the results will be horrible except for those in favor with whatever management is in place. Human nature is such that this will occur. If you have any common sense at all this method of pay setting will be rejected.
