NSPS QUESTIONS · There is no way this will stop is there? I know just before CIA converted, they had a Congressional action implemented to stop the conversion. · How are they going to determine what pay band I will initially go into? · Looks like they’re going to start converting AF/XP people this summer, how are they going to determine who will be converted first, next, or last? · As I understand it, my immediate supervisor will determine my future salary increases and my awards. · Will my supervisory be able to move me from one pay band to another (up and/or down)? · If I don’t agree with my pay band or if I ask for a salary increase and don’t get it, how will salary negotiation or appraisal disputes be handled in XP (without underlying consequences)? · How will locality rates, cost of living rates, etc. etc. be incorporated? What if these increases put us in a salary category higher than the pay band I’m in…do I move to a different pay band? · If I apply for another pay band job, do I apply for the advertised pay band category or will the gaining supervisor negotiate my pay band during the interview? · I understand pay band categories will be based on education, years of experience, certifications, etc. etc. What if I don’t meet the criteria for the advertised pay band but the gaining supervisor really wants to hire me…what pay band can he/she hire me for (remember I don’t meet the advertised criteria) · After I’m converted to pay band and I apply for a GS job…how will I be converted back to the GS scale? Will my new GS grade be based on my salary (plus the obligatory salary increase of $2,000 for promotions).
