I see this revamping of the Civil Service as a major step to dissolve my job through loopholes. In a world of the existing buddy system, where nepotism and favoritism reigns, shear hard work isn’t enough to get ahead. At least, with a scheduled step increase and cost of living allowances, I can stay with in 10-20% behind inflation, more or less. With this new "proposed" system that's being forced onto the civil service worker, one would have to be very innocent to believe that managers wouldn’t wield their new found power to give themselves and their crony’s promotions and larger cost of living raises at the cost of my family's future welfare. What's being done here is very similar to the handling of the Air Traffic Controllers. Their benefits and pay were cut to the point that they were forced to take a stand. The same is happening to civil service workers.
