Changes in the management of the personnel for the DOD will have a great effect on 750,000 civillian's who helps defend this country. The government wants us to think the current system is not working. THe new systemis suppose to tie pay to performance and make the DOD more flexible in hiring. Managers will now have even more power to play favorites to determine who will get pay increases. There will be no performance standards, there has not been an established list of offenses for termination. As employees we are left with out a way to challenge unfair disciplinary actions. This will also affect our retirement score, who says we will not be making less as we near our retirement than we do now, which will give us even less to live on in our later years. Why do managers get to choose who gets raises, as we all know it is now how hard you work it is who you know in many cases. So those of us that were hired without the help of friends and family members, where are we going to be in 10 years? If you once disagree with a manager, you can be blackballed for the rest of your career- not too fair. I would like members of the government to try and live on minimum wage or an retirement wage for the middleclass, and lets see what kind of place they will have to call home.
