I agree with the pay sytem type, but I do have concerns with thepay structure. Just who will be rating each group? What happens if you have a supervisor who does not believe in giving a good raise? Or if you do not get along with your supervisor? Here at the hospital, some individuals work one shift, are they going to have more than one rater? For each shift people do different things so how can we be compared to one that only works nights if we work days or if we happen to get all shifts thrown at us on the schedules? We are considered more flexible than those who work just one shift. I believe you should be paid according to what you do but there are many questions that should be ironed out before something like this is changed. Also there doesn't seem to be a pay schedule or band published. Maybe we should be able to see something in writing to how the pay system we be. Also how will the nursing profession be banded? Will LPN's and Rns be separate? The LPNs are now rated either GS 5 or 6, will this still be or will they be catagorized in one band? It seems that all that is published is pay where is the information about retention? It seems that we will have no where to dispute a bad performence that we will be left out to dry. Again this goes to the fact about who will be rating us. Will the union still be a factor or will it be phased out? There is no mention to this factor either. There are more questions but I guess we will have to wait and see. Since we were hired as GS will this not be against our contract or can this just be negated? All our paperwork on our applications state hired as GS. Also how will the hiring be achieved? We now can apply through CPOL is this going to change? How will the hiring system change? Where will we be able to find announcments of openings? They only open up so many jobs what makes this new method of hiring be able to hire more?
