I write to express my concerns about changes to work rules. Becoming a friend of the supervisor and people doing special favors for him or her will be rewarded not , not the hard working individuals giving more than 100 percent. Schedules and Overtime will ,with out advanced notice will be difficult to care for children and sick parents. Civilian Deployment is unsafe in a war zone when individuals are not trained to protect themselves. Compareing us to soldiers to do a job in a war zone and not getting the same benefits of a soldier is unfair . I am proud to serve my country. I signed up for a civilian job, I did not enlist in the military. I have given 16 years of civil service, and 23 years of a spouse of a soldier. I have moved every 3 years with my spouse. I have given it my all to establish a career and receive retirement on my own as a ex spouse of a soldier. Now those years will not count under a RIF, only the favorites of management will be rewarded with a lot less of seniority.I am allready working under pressure of loosing my job to insuffiecent contractors that pay someone to have a job. They feel the job is to much work for the small amount they are paid. We had two employees within the last year, contractors taken out in handcuffs one on felony charges. 95 percent of my department is black....I am white, now can you see why I am worried. These rules would create a system in which federal managers are influenced rather than serving the civil concerns of the Amercan people.Their is no impartial appeal system to assure that everyone is treated fairly. We need work rules that preserve fairness, and serve the American people, and respect the rights of all Defense Department workers.
