The comments are general to the NSPS proposed regulations. I have worked around and in the military community for almost 30 years and I have seen and experienced what things like this can do for the DOD work environment. Military personnel make themselves a job after retirement and if a current civilian is in a job that a Chief, Master Sgt or any other military person wants, they will be able to fire them and take over that position. I truly believe that this NSPS is geared towards the military community. For those who have experienced the treatment of current military supervisors, we will be looking for other positions soon after this is implemented. Military supervisors are crude, and very bias when it comes to civilians employees. I have been yelled at, accused of things that I didn't do by a Capt in the Air Force. They already rate you on their personnal opinoins and how they think you are doing. Not one of the military that I have worked for knew anything about the jobs the civilians they supervise do. Most are not even interested in learning. All I had to fall back on was the Union. They helped me with the problems I had encountered. I have never worked in another department besides the Air Force and I can tell you that this would be a huge mistake to make it this easy to hire, fire and give promotions to DOD personnel. I also agree that there are personnel that do not do their jobs and don't go over and beyond. That should be worked as a case by case basis. If anything, NSPS should grandfather all personnel with 15 or more years with the DOD and let them finish until they retire. The person that came up with this idea must not have had anything better to do with their time. The system isn't broke, so why fix it? There will be more to come on this and I fully support the Labor Unions on this one....... Thanks for your time..... YM
