I welcome any 'fair' appraisal process for the government. I have been in the government for almost 30 years and have seen personnel in many agencies abuse the performance metrics. I've witnessed many people with government longevity become idle and less 'motivated' but still retain the same pay as personnel that acquire more responsibilities and are expected to produce. I personally can categorize myself as a dedicated, conscientious, government worker, some days putting in 12 hours and consistently performing duties comparable to higher level managers making much more. I firmly believe we need to get away from the old adage, "It's not what you know, it's who you know." We need to go back to a "It's not who you know, but what you do". It's about time the government presents a fair appraisal system, but the operative word is fair.......Good Luck.
