It is scary to think that an employee's career status depends on the evaluation of one person (the supervisor). There are many supervisors who are poor at their job . I suggest the supervisors receive at least half of their performance rating by those who work under them. That's the best way to make sure the supervisor does his or her job correctly. The seniority rating should still have major impact on who goes and who stays should their be a riff requirement. An employee's time in service should be given major consideration over the new performance evaluation ratings. When this new system goes into effect, I think there will be high amount of EEO cases after the first year of implementation.
