Implementation date for NSPS is set for July 2005. What is the hurry to rush into a new system and replace a old trusted system? The old system is working and everyone understands it. Yes, it has its' drawbacks and slowness for today's modern world. Everyone wants immediate responses to their needs and the old system is judged to be too slow. Why not re-write the parts of the old system that are ineffective or too slow? Why write and replace it with an entirely new system. My attendance at a town hall meeting last week made it perfectly clear that the new system is not ready for implemantation. The person deemed to know the most in AMC came to brief us. She limited her time with us in order to avoid questions and comments about how NSPS will function. Many, many more questions than answers were generated from this meeting. The various questions were met with the standard answer that she did not know the answer or that this area was still be discussed or not yet decided. The very lack of knowledge of how NSPS will work from a person appointed by a 4-star general speaks volumes to those of us without answers to our questions and concerns. If NSPS goes ahead without the training of base personnel staff before the start date thab there will be chaos.
