I have reviewed the NSPS home page for changes that may effect Veterans Preference and was made aware that the home page informs the reader, under # 11. "What will not change under NSPS"? The answer given is Veterans Preference Principals. Under # 12. "What protection does NSPS provide employees", under Second, rules remain unchanged regarding prohibited personnel practices, including? Violation of veterans' preference requirements is included. And under "HIRING FLEXIBILITIES" # 54 the question is "I have heard that NSPS does not provide for Veterans' Preference. Is that true? The answer given is "No. Contrary to what you may have read, NSPS will not eliminate Veterans' Preference. Are there going to be any changes what so ever concerning Veterans' Preference as we know it in todays DOD Personnel System? I am the Chairman of the Veterans Committee on our DOD compound and our union has been informing the employees that there will be changes to Veterans' Preference under NSPS. I have been trying to dispell this misinformation but want to be absolutely sure I am properly informing our employees. Please advise.
