Is someone reviewing the way we do GS's performance evaluations? As of right now most of our GS''s receive acceptable or unacceptable ratings. Over the past 6 years or so, I have found that NOT a good system. Seems to me it doesn't matter how good you do your job, the most you are going to get is ACCEPTABLE. Years ago the military created the same type of pay banding for our NAF employees and they SOLD it by saying it would award good performancers...that's not the case. What are we going to do about manager's and supervisor's who just want to keep an employee down reguardness of his/her performance. All decision making individuals are not honorable. Use myself as example........under the old system I received outstanding performance evaluations and I received what we call on-the-spot award, a one time amount of about $250.00 to $500.00. My annual pay never did change. For the past 6 years, I have received acceptable performance evaluations with three out of the 6 years receiving time-off for my performance. The other three years I was nominated but never received an award. I hope we are doing things to look out after our good performancers, even the ones that may not be liked by management.......
