"Sir/Ma'am, Thank you for the opportunity to express my comments about upcoming NSPS implementation. Continued workforce envolvement in this ambitious effort will surely assist DOD policymakers in making informed, prudent decisions. I fully support NSPS implementation and look forward to the opportunities it will afford. I am very proud to be a Navy civilian employee and want to add value to my organization, NAVFAC MIDLANT, so that we may better fulfill our mission statement. You can be assured that I will support NSPS implementation with cooperation, participation, and feedback so that it may be a success. Despite virulent dogma from labor unions, specifically the Metal Trades Council Local 97, many employees look at opportunities presented by NSPS with great anticipation. Labor unions have spared little expense, however, at demonizing NSPS as an end to ethical workforce treatment. On several occasions I have debated our union steward about NSPS, highlighting current inequities that the system would correct. The only response I can get is "Rumsfeld is the Anti-Christ". Can I recommend that representatives from NSPS implementation come into our workplace so that employees may see and hear for themselves that you are not indeed Satan. Attached is a paper that I have presented to my graduate school class about personal values and ethics within the workplace. Perhaps you will be able to identify problems that NSPS can potentially correct. Respectfully, Lance G. Waldrop NAVFAC MIDLANT" This is a perfect example of a suck-up that will thrive in the NSPS. If you read the attachment, the attitude is "to hell with the whole unit... I'm good". Forget teamwork, forget loyalty... everybody is screwed-up...but I'm good. Mission accomplishment takes teamwork. Healthy competition is desirable if the objective supports the mission, in NSPS the objective is the limited funds available for pay raises and bonuses. It will destroy teamwork and promote individual rivalry.
