I have many concerns about this new NSPS pay system. My biggest concern, however, is that it will now be difficult or almost impossible to get any type of increase in pay. We currently receive a step increase consistently each year within the GS pay scale. That will be gone with NSPS. I understand that pay will be based on performance, however, this gives the supervisors alot of power and I don't think all supervisors will be fair. There is also another level above the supervisor who gets to determine if the pay increase recommended by the supervisor actually goes to the employee. To receive a pay increase in NSPS, it will depend upon who you know and not necessarily depend upon your work performance. The current government pay scale has been in place for many, many years and it works. Why try to fix something that works?
