I have worked for over 20 years at TACOM and am appalled at the arrogance of this proposal. There was no Union involvement with the drafting of the NSPS despite the Gov'ts protests to the contrary. They never acted in good faith and are simply ramming this so called FIX down our throats, without due process, much like their arm twisting for their so called Medicare FIX. I am appalled at the unilateral action and the political hubris of this proposal. Much as I am appalled at the erosion of our civil rights - all under the cloak of patriotism. Who do you think supports the warfighters? It is the dedicated civilian workers like myself who bend over backwards to provide our soldiers in the field with the equipment they need to keep them safe. Even Congress doesn't do this, i.e. sending men/women to war without body armor and without properly armored vehicles. Shame on all of us for allowing this to have happened. Peoples lives and safety should count more than politics. I do not want my flextime changed. I do not want further politization of the federal workplace structure. I do not want an SES political appointee who makes more money simply because of that fact (witness the difference in raises recently revealed from these folks and their civil service SES counterparts) making ANY decisions on my retirement, work schedule, pay raises, or performance appraisals. The NSPS changes are political and harm the decent, hard-working professionals like myself who are consistently denigrated by the current administration in Washington. No to NSPS. No to Donald Rumsfeld's Agenda. No to unfair and unequal representation. This is NOT the American way of doing business or making change.
