Please reference: The proposed regulations, known as the National Security Personnel System (NSPS), which were printed in the Federal Register on February 14, 2005. I want to express my concerns about the changes to work rules in the Department of Defense (DoD). This whole document has issuances and no clarification. How can a reasonable person be expected to make a determination on this document if much of the vital information on how the process will work is missing? I have worked for DoD for years and I am outraged by these proposals and by the way that they disrespect our fellow brothers & sisters, many of whom are veterans who have long fought to protect this/ our nation. The NSPS will change the way workers are paid, evaluated, promoted, fired, scheduled, and treated. These rules will create a system in which federal managers may be influenced by favoritism rather than serving the civil concerns of the American people. DoD employees are good hard working people - committed to achieving organizational goals and missions. These are the same good people who are / have been helping to defend our country for decades. History reveals that organizations that mistreats thier employees are not very successful in attaining their goals.
