- Don't believe all positions should be identified as "deployable". If certain positions are deployable, then identify those. When I started civil service 20+ years ago, I made a point NOT to join the armed services for that very reason. - Doing away with COLA increases - these increases are not meant to be tied to performance in any way. My understanding is they are small raises used to try and keep in line with inflation from year to year. Also trys to bridge the gap between private sector salaries and govt salaries. These should not be eliminated. - COLA increases after retirement - Since these are being done away with completely in proposed NSPS, what happens to retirement, I'm assuming COLA's will no longer be in retirement for those retiring under NSPS. This is grossly negligent, just as the above comments reference COLA's. Persons on retired income cannot keep pace with rising inflation through their retirement years and depend on these small COLA's to offset at least part of the increases in medical costs, groceries, gas, etc. - Understand the need to ease hiring/firing rules and getting rid of the WIGI in favor of performance based pay.
