I am appalled at the use of President Bush's political capital! I voted for republicans in numerous previous elections and even jested that a vote for Bush would be a vote to eliminate my job. I think the NSPS is a step in this direction. I cannot fathom how these regulatory changes would benefit an electrician at a hydropower facility and I certainly can't ascertain how my union rights as a blue collar laborer are adversely affecting NATIONAL SECURITY. Please call this what it really is: a means to DE-unionize the federal workforce under the guise of national security interests. I will refrain from making an item by item counterpoint to this republican led initiative to railroad unions out of the DOD. I have learned my lesson regarding political payoffs at the cost of federal jobs and employee rights and will be casting my ballot for a different party in the future if this DOD personnel reformation act is implemented. For these reasons and others, I strongly urge you to consider alternate methods to reach the real goal of forming a more efficient and cost effective fighting military. DE-unionizing the DOD is not the way to do it!
