This system will really be great for the "good ole boys" at our base to get raises while the rest of us won't. No matter how much you state that this won't occur, it already occurs for promotions and for people who don't work but still can get away with doing nothing because they are "in with the powers that be". Fortunately right now we get raises on a routine basis so our retirement will be okay. (Actually, I want the same retirement system as congress has--I've been told that they get their full pay upon retirement after 2 terms--wouldn't that be nice!) Unfortunately with NSPS, routine raises will no longer be true. This whole thing scares me! My choice right now would be that those of us in CSRS and FERS stay in what we are in and anyone hired from now on be on the NSPS. That would be fair. If anyone wants to change from the system they are on, then they could choose to do so--I would bet that there would be few, if any takers!
