I am totally against this proposal in it's current form. There are really too many reasons to list but all of the concerns expressed by other gov't employees are mine as well. If the Defense Secretary wants or needs more soldiers why not recruit more soldiers, not force civilians into combat situations they have no training for. The pay system will become nothing more than a legalized good ol boy system, with no recourse. We'll loose many of the protections we have had for many years. Plus we'll probably loose many good people who are not gonna want to take the chance on a career with the DOD only to have one bad supervisor ruin their career. Poor performers can be addressed properly under the current system. If it aint broke...don't fix it.
