I have a general comment about the new pay system. The Govt. has always had the upper hand in the work force as far as promotions, hiring, firing, reassignments etc. Now with the new system we are even going to have our rate of pay going into the political arena. If you have a supervisor who plays favorites now, what do you think happens when we get to the pay banding system? I have worked for a bad supervisor for years, now under the new pay system I have to get on my knees and beg for a few crumbs every year? And I might say I have been a very good worker for the last 28 years but this system is just another example of a bad idea for workers. The Govt. has always had the flexibility to do whatever they wanted to in the workforce, this new system takes away the few workers rights we have had in the past. And I might say the old system was based on the Military pay system that was very fair. I feel sorry for the new workers coming into the Govt. that will have to put up with this new system. There are too many possibilites for abuse because you are always going to have bad supervisors that are prejudiced against people. The real reason the Govt. want this system is to underpay their workers. This is why they want to change the system.
