My concerns about changes to work rules in the Department of Defense (DOD). I have worked for the Air Force for years. I am extremely livid and very disappointed that these proposals seem to treat the employees who have defended our country, just in a different way. However, I still consider myself as part of the Air Force Family. Most DoD employees work hard and are very committed to get the job done. This system will change the paid, evaluated, promotions, being fired, scheduling, and most of all, the fair treatment of the civilian work force. In my opinion these rules would create a system in which federal managers are influenced by favoritism rather than serving the civilian concerns. This system would leave a great devastation in work ethic, and the productivity of the civilian worker. All time and effort will be on how to ingratiate your self to upper management. This system will force workers to complete with one another for pay raises, which will destroy teamwork, increase conflict among all employees, and reward short term outcomes. There is no guarantee that even the best workers will receive a pay raise that the pay offered will be fair or competitive. This system will create a situation in which workers are in conflict with one another and afraid to speak out about harassment violations of the law, and workplace safety problems. Furthermore, there will be no impartial appeal system to assure that everyone is treated fair. For now on, Friend of the Supervisor would be a, Job Title and Series.
