I have been working for the government for over 20 years and the thought of having someone come in who may have less years of service than I can knock me out of a job, I have worked hard to get where I am now and want to plan on a retirement that I deserve. After receiving this news I already feel abandonment, If your supervisor has a problem with you, your job may be on the line. Also how can anyone have a concious knowing that families rely on income to live, if our pay changes from time to time, who can make a living. We are living in stressful times as it is, this will cause more undo stress and hardship to families, needless to say what could happen to a persons morale and attitude which could lead to violence. So do we want more unemployed people out on the streets. What does this have to do with the national security? Obiviously this was a screen to try and get rid of civil service workers.
