I have a concern with the use of a local market supplement instead of the current locality pay. The current system uses cost-of-living indicators for each area of the country and does not penalize differing occupational areas. I was a single mom when the locality pay differential was first begun and it was a life saver. I lived in the SF Bay Area and the cost of living was burying me. The locality pay made the difference for safe child care and ever-changing transportation costs. I was in a non-technical position and under the new market supplement I would not have received as much benefit as I did with locality pay. Thank you for considering my opinion...
