I HAVE WORKED AS A FIREFIGHTER FOR OVER 17 YEARS AND I AM APPALLED AT THE WAY THIS NSPS IS BEING JAMMED DOWN THE EMPLOYEES THROAT. YOU WOULD THINK THAT THE POWERS TO BE COULD COME UP WITH A PROGRAM AND MAKE SURE THAT THEY HAVE ALL THE FACTS AND FIGURES READY TO BE IMPLEMENTED, AND THEN GO TO ALL THE EMPLOYEES AND GIVE THEM A VOICE ON THE MATTER BEFORE THEY JUST ARBITRARILY IMPLEMENT IT THEN ASK FOR SUGGESTION. THERE MAYBE PROBLEMS WITH THE SYSTEM AS IS BUT LETS TRY TO FIX THEM AND ACUTUALLY FOLLOW THE RULES SET FORTH. SO MANY OF THE CURRENT EMPLOYEES HAVE SERVED THIS COUNTRY IN THE MILITARY AND NOW ARE HELPING THIS GREAT COUNTRY BY WORKING FOR THE GOVERMENT AND TO BE ABLE TO KEEP STATE SIDE BASES OPERATING WHILE THE MILITARY MEMBERS GO OVER SEAS TO HELP FIGHT FOR FREEDOM. HOW FAIR IS IT TO TELL A CIVILIAN EMPLOYEE TO HAVE TO PACK THEIR BAGS YOUR NOW GOING TO BE EMPLOYEED OVER SEAS. I THOUGHT WE LIVED IN THE UNITED STATES, WHERE YOU ARE ABLE TO MAKE YOUR OWN CHOICES. AS A FEDREAL FIREFIGHTER WE WORK 72 HOUR A WEEK AND SOMETIMES MORE TO KEEP THE MISSION GOING TO PROTECT THE INSTALLATIONS AND THE MILITARY MEMBERS THAT LIVE ON THE INSTALLATION. WE FOUGHT MANY YEARS TO FIX THE PROBLEM OF PAY WITH FIREFIGHTERS, NOW THE NSPS WILL JEPORDIZE THE PROCESS THAT WE WORK SO HARD ON. THE PAY BAND SYSTEM THAT THE NSPS IS TRYING TO IMPLEMENT WILL NOT ONLY EFFECT OUR PAY BUT ALL OTHER EMPLOYEES BY YOU NOT KNOWING WHAT YOUR PAY WILL BE YEAR TO YEAR, THEN TO HAVE TO DEPEND ON YOUR PERSONNEL SUPERVISOR TO DECIDE IF YOU DESERVE THE PAY CHECK THAT YOU WORKED FOR. HOW FAIR IS THAT. TO TOP ALL OF THIS OFF THE GOVERMENT WANTS TO TAKE AWAY ALL BARGINING RIGHTS AWAY FROM THE PEOPLE THAT HELP PROTECT THEM EVERY DAY. THE NSPS GUIDLINES WERE BEING IMPLEMENTED WAY BEFORE 9/11 SO TO BE PIGGY BACING WHAT HAPPEN ON THAT DAY WHEN MANY AMERICANS WERE LOST ISNT FAIR. THE GOVERMENT SEEMS TO BE USING THAT ISSUE TO STREAM LINE THIS CHANGE BEFORE THEY ACUTUALLY THINK IT THROUGH AND JUST MAKE WHOLE SALE CHANGES. WHEN EMPLOYEES ARE HIRED THEY EXPECT TO BE DOING THE JOB THEY ARE HIRED FOR, NOT HAVING THERE SUPERVISOR TELLING THEM THEIR NOPT NEEDED TODAY BUT YOU CAN GO DO SOMETHING ELSE TODAY HOW FAIR IS THAT. TODAY A FIREFIGHTER TOMORROW A GATE GAURD.
