Went to the faq on the nsps website and on quetion 8 "What is the National Security Personnel System (NSPS)?" it described various changes, however at the end of the answer it said that the specifics of any of these changes were currently unknown. How the hell am I supposed to go along with this if you don't even know what it is. The New "pay for performance" and RIF rules seem to get back to the old saying,"It's not what you know, it's who you know." Which would be highly unfair to the people who do the work but don't get the credit(Yes it does happen). It doesn't make sense because supervisors are changed often in millitary facilitys. I don't believe that in the event of a RIF that my job should be placed in the hands of a supervisor that may have just gotten in my shop, and doesn't even know the way things work yet. Seniority seems to be less important under this new plan, is that the same for the millitary, would a tech sergent that has 20 years in have the same chances of forced discharge (RIF) as a tech sergent whith 10 years in? If deployed is there a forewarning of when, would I recieve shots for possible viral threats and recieve weapons training and a weapon to defend my self against possible hostiles? Or would I be just an extra target for the enemies of the United States? Would the new plan provide deployed citizens with the housing, food, etc. at no cost to them? I had an Honerable discharge when I was in the Air Foce (1970 - 1974) and was told that I got out just a little bit too early to recieve a bonus. If I were deployed would I then be eligable for this bonus? Would the new RIF and Deployment rules affect contractors as well? I feel that for something to change my and many other civilians lives there should be a vote on it, or at least a trial period that would allow this program to be adopted or dumped by the people affected.
