I actually welcome NSPS but as a first line Manager/Supervisor I have several concerns. First and foremost is Training. Not just Supervisor but for employees. They need to know just what the Supervisor responsibilities are and how we will arrive at our ratings. Secondly in my particular case I supervise 24 employees and 19 of them are in the same Grade as I am (GS-13). Is there a separate Pay Band for Supervisors? Case in point (when Pay Bands are established) I, as most of my employees, at the GS-13 level are at the Step 7-10 arena and if the Pay Band is at the GS-12 to 13, we are all at the end of the scale. What incentive do I have to remain as a Supervisor if I'm getting the same or less compensating than those I supervise? Thanks!
