I have served 20 years in the USAF and was proud of every minute. I was separated from my family for 5 short tours, including Korea, Turkey, Sicily, and the Aluetian Islands. I have served my time. Now as a civilian member of the DoD, there is a possibility I will be placed into the same status as military members - however, President Bush does not feel that I deserve pay parity with the military. I fail to see the logic - work for DoD, follow the same work rules, but get paid less for my job than my military counterpart. We work side by side with our military counterparts doing the same job but are considered less deserving, do we not face the same dangers and hostilities?
