Comments:
Capt. Orzalli, PSNS Commander, asked us to comment on NSPS and stated we can influence the design of NSPS by our comments. My comments or influence have never carried any weight to move national issues. My review of the NSPS is that it is designed to be re-designed to whatever the DoD directives state, which I have never had any influence over. I am a union member and I like our union, which has an opportunity to take management to task on work issues, which for me (twice) has been a change in my work conditions. This little influence is all I have. A national union or a larger union at this shipyard may not be a close and friendly.
