As a new employee in Civil Service, I can understand many of the concerns that my fellow workers have. However, I also see where the "good-old-boy" network works mostly in favor of those who don't really do their job, but insist on getting paid and looking for that next promotion, or "at least I get my step increase for doing less each year". I only hope that the NSPS will help hire the best qualified to do the work and get rid of those that don't, or at least provide an alternate avenue to for them to retrain. I agree with mobility, if that means serving in a war zone, then so be it. I accepted it as a active duty military person and I understand and accept it as a civilian employee. If you don't, then seek employment elsewhere. I don't agree with our union, as I see it as more of a tool for "complainers" who just don't want to work than really serving a purpose to benefit all employees. New system, bring it on, I'm ready.
