I oppose the proposed pay banding and the performance appraisal. It is too controlling and the performance appraisal is bad. It will cause too many bad feelings (e.g., early retirements) and will be based on opinion. It did not work the last time and will not work this time. There is nothing wrong with the GS pay system. Appraising performance for bonuses is OK, however, not for your yearly pay. It will not improve performance, just yes-men and turn people against each other. I have heard the pros about the system from the government (management), however, but I have not heard any comments from people under the new system. Is there something to hide, good or bad? If it is not broke, do not fix it. The old system might need some work but not this much work. I'm not including my name due to I know what comments can do to you. Thank you
