Comments:
I believe the proposed NSPS will undermine the Civil Service and hurt the mission of the DoD employees. I am relatively new to DoD but in my short time, I have seen programs implemented before all the kinks were ironed out and the results are not pleasant. At a briefing we were given, the presenter admitted that the proposed NSPS did not have all the details settled. According to our union rep the dialogue with DoD was not authentic and one easily gets the impression that we are being railroaded into a system that raises more questions than provides a solution. My colleagues and I have discussed the NSPS proposal and feel strongly that the problems that will be encountered may be worse than the ones we complain about now. With the workforce retiring in droves, perhaps it is the right time to make changes, but let's get it right before it is put into effect. Keep our union voice active in the dialogue.
