I am addressing the overview of the proposed change from the system we are presently using to the NSPS system. As a long time employee of the federal system, I see this new change as one that would create more problems than good. I see this proposal as one that would not help the civilians workforce as a whole, but instead create the "good old boy concept", giving no advantages or opportunities to persons that work hard and deligently to achieve a goal in their profession. There are no assurance or protection of fair and equal protection for all, as given under the old plan. If you want to help the working family persons, then get rid of the inadaquate retirement (FERS) plan, replacing it with a plan that would help the family person, giving some means of making ends meet in this days high, high economy. Get rid of the inadquate step increase, which has been outdated for many years. Make the pay adquately sufficient for those persons working in high and risk job position (0083 Police Officers), especially those that at are working for the department of defense. Make upgrades on all the outdated benefits that haven't been changed since the late 1800s to early 1900s (uniform allowances, in-grade level increase and etc... There are many of ways you can improve the system, but not by adopting plans that would do more harm than good. Live up to the things we are trying to get other countries to accept, a true democracy, for the people, not just the wealthy ones. Lets address the situation in a manner that would benefit all Americans, not just the chosen few. If you like for me to give you several other ways you could improve the system, without going to the extreme, i would gladly and readily give you my assistance. Please notify me at the address I have listed above.
