Subpart F workforce Shaping – Section 9901.607 It is a mutual benefit for veterans to work for the DoD as civilian employees as all veterans, compared to their non-veteran civilian colleagues, have a better knowledge and understanding of the organization of their respective branch of Service they once served with, and how things get done in the field. Knowledge is power. Moreover, we veterans were separated from our family and loved ones for extended period of time during various deployments, walked the extra miles when our feet hurt, carried the extra load when our arms were tired, took the unimaginable risk that the general public would not want to take in order to conquer the invincible despite the seemingly insurmountable odds for the interests and common goods of the United States. Yet, the Veterans’ preference will be placed last but one in the factors determining the Reduction In Force Retention standing by the DoD in the proposed NSPS. What an insult to all veterans serving in the DoD! Our adversaries must be clapping their hands for the proposed NSPS are trying to double-cross the veterans and inadvertently sending a demoralizing message to our Active folks that they will not be held in high regards if they work for the DoD as civilian employees in the future. Therefore, I strongly oppose the proposed NSPS to significantly diminish Veterans’ preference in both hiring and RIF Retention standing, contrary to the express policy of the current President. Who in DoD has the audacity to do something contrary to the express policy of the current U. S. President?
