RE: NSPS Thoughts Unqustionably, if 'might is right' and 'big is better' then NASPS legislation to help the country and federal worker sounds equally logical. Have you ever heard of a large company, a powerful office or a great product evolving without fault ? Don't think ENRON, DOW (in India), Water Gate, Vioxx, etc., etc., etc. Also, don't think in terms of some governments and their leadership (Marcos, Kim Jong Il, Adolph Hitler, Joseph Lenin etc. etc. etc. Oversight for compliance and enforcement have a place but so does an open society that encourages constructive feedback and information that promotes and protects people and a way of life. Don't ever think that the elimination of collective bargaining can weaken a government or reduce protection for a people. Poor decisions at all levels, self centered motivation, and irresponsible individuals are a bigger concern. Direct reaction to a command, 'gee' / 'haw', has no counterbalance or protection for continued success. The NSPS program seems to be one that attempts to accomlish more for all by suggesting a littany of mere mortals in a relationship of power can save time and do good by the people they represent without having input from the same people that provide them with a job and income. As long as a government does not play this game the people are protected, their lives can be more prosperous and the history of such a society can fill volumes. NSPS is an ill conceived and narrow minded solution to problems and concerns that are more profound than the solutions can cope with. Halting the voices of logic and disagreement , and removing the right of bargaining can be accomplished with a gun or poor legislation. One method is considered illegal the other might be considered more acceptable having the 'proper spin applied.' One choice may be considered better but neither of these is good. When people cannot have input their thoughts are worthless and their purpose is rudderless. Security is not established with a gag order and dictatorial activities. Security is built through mutual trust, a common goal, open communication and much hard work toward a common goal. People divided have no common goal they have personal goals.
