As a new affiliate working for the civil service, and as a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, I am at odds with the comments I have read from people such as myself and the information provided by the government concerning NSPS. It would seem that civil servants are concerned with the fact that they might have to relocate in order to better serve their country or position. Why should they not? If we are to succeed as a country, not individuals, then we should work for that betterment and try to humble ourselves and discontinue seeking personal gain. On the other hand, I have a family to support, will probably return to Iraq in order to help the unfortunate people there, and must look for ways to honor and sustain those whom I love the most... my wife and children. In order for this to be accomplished I will strive to work hard and hopefully be compensated for my sacrifices. My concern is not of self-sacrifice, but that my efforts are for naught due to the unfortunate control of my new civilian position being controlled by personnel who are looking for ways to save money in a time when disconcerting events are a daily way of life. We shall overcome, of that I am certain, but we will never agree with each other and that is the beauty of our country. We have the right to disagree and that is what makes us americans and so wonderful. I feel that this brief description of my feelings will undoubtedly go unnoticed and will be cast-aside as the wheels are set into motion for the NSPS, regardless of our comments. Nevertheless, the time will come when we all must realize that NSPS will happen and that we shall all have to adjust accordingly. My hopes are that my love for my family and my country will not be cast aside and that I will continue to make a career out of honoring my new position and be properly compensated without the worry of losing income.
