National Security System. Yeah, right. Who could dare be against something designed TO MAKE US SAFER? Orwell is alive and well these last five years. This revamping of the Civil Service is to see its demise. Management will have all the power, the unions none (other than to give advice). If your supervisor doesn't much like you, but you manage to keep your job, you'll forever be paid the same amount. But hey, that's better than getting the minimum wage of $5.25. an hour, which politicians of primarily one party refuse to raise for eight years, while their income has risen by $28,000. We've already heard about the extreme political overhauls which have taken place recently in so many governmental departments, where people are kept only if they blindly support the current governing party. Be prepared to see the same thing happen for ALL government employees. This is just a further assault on our multi-faceted America, from a band of arch-conservatives who are bent on removing all safety nets, decent standards of living: the Ownership Society indeed. Everything is for the corporations, the big money, and screw the little people. I'm awfully glad I'll be retiring soon; I pity my hard-working, decent brothers and sisters left behind. But don't think I don't worry about my retirement...these people will do anything---ANYTHING---to grab and hold on to power. Read Paul Krugman's "The Great Unraveling." Pity there isn't a chapter on the NSPS---but it's just a further piece of the whole process. I pray more people in America wake up to what many in the rest of the world already see.
