Dear Sirs/Madames, I am a loyal and hard working American citizen, civil servant and Vietnam era veteran. I am 54 years old with 36 years of Government service and now I am the "Bad Guy". I think NSPS is a crock. I've got no love lost for the Unions either. They never did a damn thing for me except take my union dues and that was that. But it is nice to see them doing what they do best talk and write letters. Anyway, like I said earlier I am nearing retirement, I have topped out in my pay grade, so I have'nt seen a step increase or a within grade increase in ten years. Man, I have been screwed by this organization and the government for so many years, I hope you don't think once or twice more is going to make a difference. Bring on your pay bands and pay for performance. Seems the only person who knew what I do around here retired last year. So my new Supervisor is too busy learning his new job to be bothered with me. The one thing I will miss though is that before you had to treat me like a human being and with dignity and respect, because that was the law. Well those days are gone and the new rules are written in sand, instead of stone, and change with the tide. Never mind an old ex-Marine like myself, there is not very much more you can do to me. But you do not have to gut a system that works (flawed as it may be) and replace it with hell on Earth. "Absolute power, corrupts absolutely." When you put that kind of power over people in the hands of some people it is nothing but a recipe for trouble. I feel sorry for the young people who will come after me. And I feel sorry for our Nation if you let this farse go on.
