I urge congress to force DOD and DHS to rethink their proposal. Their proposal is a slap in the face to DOD workers who have dedicated their life to serving the government. If implemented, the DOD will lose many senior workers to retirement or to the public sector. There are many who believe the seniority should continue to be considered before performance. What ever happen to loyalty. The government wants to attract and recruit new employees with pay for performance--this is not going to work. Everyone knows that new employees will take full advantage of every training opportunity they can take from the government and return to the public section for better pay. This is not the way to do business--wake up. Supervisors must be better trained and held accountable on the way they do business. After reading the majority of the comments on this site, it is clear that 98% of the FEDERAL WORKERS DO NOT SUPPORT NSPS. I URGE CONGRESS TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT AND FORCE DHS AND DOD TO RETHINK THEIR PROPOSAL. LISTEN TO THE UNIONS AND PRESERVE THE INTEGRITY OF THE CIVIL SERVICE PROGRAM. Without question, federal workers are highly dedicated and loyal servants and deserve fair treatment, respect, and their respesentatives need to listen to what we have to say. I urge members of congress to go out and visit with unions and their federal employees at government facilities and military bases. You need to know the true facts and concerns of those who perform their jobs everyday for the government.
