In the four (4) years that I have worked for my present supervisor and the six (6) years with the previous supervisor, NO mid point reviews were performed. On at least seven (7) final yearly evaluations, a copy of the rating was left on my desk for signature on the last day for submission, on the other three (3) I was not available for signature, no counseling session was conducted. I must admit that the rating was excellent, but caused a great bit of apprehension. I don't think that the new system will impact the "business as usual" atmosphere, except that my supervisor will now be in control of my salary. My supervisor communicates with all but two of her 11 subordinates via e-mail, the other two, she is quite friendly with and talks with them frequently as well as assigning work verbally instead of thru electronic format. There is a strong sense that the relationships with my supervisor will somehow factor in to salary computations.
