More and more rights are being taken away from government employees. When I started working for the federal government, it was mainly for the benefits. First of all, shortly after I started working for the federal government, employees were no longer under CSRS. They started making all new employees contribute to FERS. I now have serious doubts about the security of CSRS. Then we were made to start paying for Medicare whenever social security got in trouble. Now they are going to take away our automatic step increases and pay raises. Also, where are the checks and balances for management? It appears that under NSPS supervisors will be able to do even more for their favorites. I just hope I will be able to retire with enough money to live on.
