I think the DoD should do away with the NSPS solely because it takes away the justification we have to continue with our daily jobs. With the current GS system, which I believe is fair and reasonable, the NSPS relies more so on our relationships with you supervisors and team lead. For example, NSPS is basically subjective and doesn't look at the whole picuture. NSPS is about who is liked and not liked to get that higher pay. If I see people having trouble getting promoted with the GS system, I wonder how difficult it will be with the NSPS. For example, if two people on the same team performed at the same level. However, one was liked and the other one wasn't, do you know who will get the higher pay? The main thrust and intent of NSPS is to consolidate control of employment, deployment and compensation at DoD level. It more of a way to dictate the way thing want to be done rather then the way thing should be done.
