I am very concerned about the way the appraisals and raises will be handled with this new system. I have been a supervisor in the past and I know that some very capable hardworking individuals have a very hard time expressing themselves to a superior about how well they work, or how valuable they are to the organization. Call it humilty or call it embarrassment about talking about themselves and their great accomplishments, they will not be able to brag about their work - they just come to work and do it! Some employees are not very proficient in speaking or briefing and those individuals will be very handicapped in this new system because they will be judged on their ability to use words instead of their actual work. I think raises should be regularly scheduled and that individuals should have to perform to a certain level of performance to be approved for them. Everyone should have the opportunity to progress up the ladder without being a braggart!
