I truly enjoy my job working for the Air Force but i am concerned that going to this system will have adverse effects. I have attended a MANDATORY training where there were no questions allowed. This raises a little flag in my mind. What it tells me is that my management do not know what is going to happen when the NSPS goes into effect. My questions are about proper evaluations on the employee. are supervisors truly ready for the responsibility of having a direct impact on their employees income. Under the current appraisal system we are told that there is only so many appraisal points allowed to be given out and when they are gone upper management starts cutting appraisals. Are our raises going to be cut by management because they have already given out all the money that they were alloted? I also know that if supervisors wanted to weed out poor performers they could do it under the old system if they would only take the initiative to do so. I am not afraid of change but the lack of management knowledge about this system is quite disappointing. I am very reluctant to get behind a system that seems to have many loopholes for supervisors and upper management to affect my pay for standing up for what I believe in. I would like to see more training on the system before implimentation. I hear what the briefings are saying but what about what they are not saying?
